The T'Boli and Their Music

As you can see and hear in the following example, the T'Boli and other tribes in the Philippines incorporate music and dance to invoke spirits and cellestial protection.  The dance you see in the video is a type of war dance that was thought to protect people of the islands from the Spanish bullets.

 

The Kulintang Master performs on the tuned gongs that are tuned pentatonically (based on 5 notes in a scale).
